MATTHEW ZEPEDA is a savvy spartan who takes pride in bettering the community through participating in clubs and classes such as Spartan Buddies, AVID Tutoring, and Link crew. Outside of school, you can find him working at the Los Altos Country Club, with friends, or spending time with his extended family. All in all, Matthew wants to thank all of his family, friends, and peers for all the love and support. MARY GRACE DESCOUROUEZ has served as Mountain View High School’s Freshmen Vice President, Sophomore Vice President and ASB Vice President. She can be found participating in countless clubs such as Free the Children, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spartan Buddies, Random Acts of Kindness and the Gardening club. She has been a member of MVHS’s water polo, swimming, diving and soccer team. Outside of school she enjoys playing soccer on her club team, working as a lifeguard, sleeping and spending time with her friends.
OLIVIA BINDON has contributed greatly to the MVHS community through her work as Junior PR, ASB PR, and Dance Spectrum VP. She has proudly been a part of her dance studio's Ballet Company for 3 years. Outside of school and dance, Olivia enjoys working as a social media intern at a solar power company and as cashier at Red Rock Coffee. MARK TRAMMELL is proud to be a Spartan. An active participant in Mountain View’s Sixth Man Club, Mark loves to cheer on his fellow Spartans at their various sporting events. Mark also participates in the Madrigals Choir at MVHS, with which he has had the opportunity to sing at various venues throughout the city of Mountain View. Mark is also an active participant in the Spartan Buddies club, as well as a member of the Environmental Club. In addition Mark is a team captain on the Varsity Diving team for MVHS and believes that everyone and anyone should join the diving team, due to, in his opinion, its superiority to all other sports. Outside of school, Mark enjoys reading magical books like Harry Potter, cuddling with his puppy, Sybil, and hanging out with his friends and family.
BAYLEY TUCH wants to thank all of you for all you have done to encourage, teach, and inspire her. At MV, Bayley has loved serving as ASB Vice President, a member of the Water polo team, Treasurer of the Ambassadors club, President of National Honors Society, Guest Speaker Coordinator for TEDxMVHS, and as a peer tutor in the MVHS Tutorial Center. Outside of school she is VP of her Jewish youth group's region and coaches an American Ninja Warrior course at her summer camp. JAVIN LU has experienced immense growth at MVHS through performing arts, having found a community marching Mellophone in marching band and singing in Madrigals. He pursues Japanese language and was a delegate for the Iwata Exchange program. As a low-income student, he is most proud of pushing for greater opportunity through the ASPIRE Program, SEED club, and AVID tutoring. His close working and personal relationships with classmates and teachers are the anchor of his support.
SOPHIE TOBIN is a colorful, enthusiastic, and outgoing person who loves rainbows and bright colors! She is a lover of biology, and for the past two years has gone on a two-week biodiversity research trip to Honduras and Mexico. Sophie dedicates a lot of time to playing basketball, and is an integral part to the girls’ varsity team. In her free time, she loves to sculpt, animate, and play super smash brothers with her friends. ELI HSIA contributes to his school community through being a member of the Oracle staff, serving as this year’s News Editor, and co-managing the Spartan Swipe program. He is also involved in Investment Club, Indian Club, and and Spartan Buddies, as well as a proud member of the varsity basketball team. Outside of school, you’ll find Eli at the beach or watching football with the boys.
When not being asked what the fox says or if he is related to Megan fox, CARTER FOX can be found running Cross Country and on the Lacrosse field. Carter also serves as ASB Treasurer and is now an AVID tutor. He enjoys photography and spends much of his free time photographing wildlife, the Milky Way, and waterfalls with friends. Carter also loves science and space and hopes to one day be an Astronomer. INDIA FLINCHUM enjoys long hikes and anything vintage or retro. She’s often found laughing at herself and her surroundings, acknowledging what a strange and unpredictable world we live in. India loves to write, and has been a member of the Oracle newspaper since her freshman year. She’s also a part of Spartan Buddies, the MVHS Indian club, and National Honors Society. India was run cross-country for all 4 years at Mountain View High School and Track and Field for 2. She is currently a Co-President of the MVHS Literary Magazine and an AVID tutor for the SDAIE department.
LEAH LAM has grown and served in many ways at MVHS for the past 4 years. She is the student body president and is an active volunteer, competitor, tutor, coach, and leader in the MVLA Speech & Debate Team, Girls Who Code, Business, Entrepreneurship and Math Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Sixth Man, and the track & field team. Off-campus, Leah works at three jobs. In her free time, she plays the piano and follows professional basketball. RON MIASNIK has worked to improve the Mountain View community as President of the Ambassadors Club, as a freshman orientation POD commissioner, by founding the BEAM Club, and by speaking at and planning TEDxMountain View High School. Ron is also a peer tutor in the tutorial center, a member of National Honor Society, and a Varsity Soccer and Cross Country athlete. Ron connects to his Jewish and Israeli identities through BBYO, where he served as the North California Region’s President. He enjoys playing board games with his siblings, reading, and going to stand up comedy shows.
KATHRYN KEMP has loved her experience at MVHS and is proud to call it her high school. She has had some of the best experiences of her life through Dance Spectrum, explored her interest of journalism as a page editor for the MVHS Oracle, and has especially enjoyed getting to know even more people through the Ambassadors Club, SDAIE tutoring, and the Stand Up to Cancer Club she co-founded. She is inspired everyday by the awesome people she is surrounded by both inside and outside the classroom. JOSIAH GOMES is most commonly known for his flaming locks of red hair, passion for singing, and need to make humorless jokes. He is now in his fourth year of Madrigals, and is extremely excited to be the voice for the Performing and Visual Arts in ASB. Josiah’s hobbies consists of singing in the shower, binge watching Dance Moms, and writing music with his fellow peers.
HAILEY MARENT participates in many activities on campus, including ASB, Spartan Buddies, and Sixth man, where she shows her love for sports. She can also be seen out on the field, where she plays school soccer and runs hurdles for the track team. Outside of school, Hailey continues to be active through playing club soccer, skiing, and swimming at the beach with her family and her dog Max. PJ DE MONET is proud to be a spartan and be a part of our amazing community. PJ is a member of ASB this year, is on the board for Sixth Man Club and Spartan Buddies, and is running cross country even though he’s not very good at it. PJ has a pearl tea obsession, enjoys playing with his two golden retrievers, and loves to make people happy.
