Photo story: Spartans return to track for first meet of season in Rustbuster Invitational

MVHS Track and Field athletes raced through rain, wind, and chills on Saturday, March 2, at the RustBuster Invitational at Monta Vista High School. Heavy rain was punctuated by brief spells of sunshine as runners, throwers, and jumpers competed in their first meet of the season.

The Mountain View team placed 6th out of 14 schools with 186 points, and St. Ignatius was the victor with 397. Individual athletes fared better, with Eliot Li, Amir Ware, Lilah Carter, Dean Caringella, Jordan Landaverde, Ethan Leonard, Justin Harrell, Shira Kafka, Annie Riordan, and Lucy Camp claiming podium places. The varsity boys Sprint Medley Relay, 4×100 meter relay, and JV boys 4×400 meter relay also placed.
