Rise of the Sun

Sep 23, 2013
A poem by Dominique Lau:
Thousands of delicate
dew crystals
Gently rest upon the tips of the wild grass field
as they shimmer
from the sole ray of light.
Soon the sky is streaked–
A rose, amber, violet ombré;
Not long until it fades
Into the seas up above.
Carefully she saunters
across the field;
the droplets tickle her ankles.
Looks around,
sees none.
Silently
she smiles to herself;
she calls it life,
inner peace,
her happiness–
In her heart does it belong.
