Homecoming Court Announced
Sep 10, 2013
Seniors nominated peers for Homecoming Court in Civics & Econ classes this past week, and after underclassmen gathered in Mr. Darby’s room on Monday, September 9th, to count ballots, the official Homecoming Court of 2013 has been announced.
The Homecoming Court couples are as follows:
Jake Stuebner & Kiley Rucker
Anthony Avery & Celeste Ingersoll
Danny Ballesteros & Jordana Bischoff
Logan Allen & Maggie Moor
Ethan Giles & Annika Reno
Kyle Arrillaga & Melissa Reed
Youngbin Lim & Maggie Costales
Rob Carpenter & Bethany Tinklenberg
Oren Merry & Jessica Fernandez
Homecoming events will take place during the week of October 7th, beginning with a rally during second period on Monday (G-Schedule) and ending with the Homecoming dance from 8 P.M. to 11 P.M. Friday, the 11th. The Homecoming theme has yet to be announced.
Homecoming Court members traditionally partake in spirit-promoting activities throughout the week such as a Dunk Tank and other games during lunch. A parade featuring each of the separate class floats, which are judged individually for Sparta Points takes place after school on the Friday of the Homecoming football game. The final Homecoming King & Queen announcement is during halftime of the game.
The Homecoming King & Queen are decided by the entire school at ASB election tables during Homecoming Week in the Quad. Students need an ID card to vote, and can only vote once.
When asked about how they felt about their nomination, Jake Stuebner and Melissa Reed both responded with how honored they feel to have been nominated.
“All MVHS students do great things, and as a senior class, we have all come very far,” Reed said.
Another Court member, Jordana Bischoff, commented, “I look forward to sharing the week with other court members.”
