Boys soccer ties scrimmage against Burlingame

1-1 was the final score, recorded Tuesday afternoon, between Mountain View boys varsity soccer and the tough Burlingame team. This was the second unofficial game of the season. In the beginning moments of the game, the outlook appeared bleak, as MVHS allowed an own goal on a play of utter chaos. This unfortunate turn of events didn’t deter the will of the Spartans, and they were every bit as tenacious, perhaps even more so, in pursuit of the equalizer.

By way of some cheeky play by juniors Josue Aguliar, and Brad Bumgarner, along with numerous other players worked the game back into Spartan control. Their hard work paid off when junior Keenan Zucker tucked a goal away out of a scrum of players, leveling the score. Stellar defense from both sides kept the tie intact until the final whistle.

“We need to work on our chemistry,” junior Guillermo Burger said.

With more time, more chemistry will develop, giving all reassurance that the team will once again have a successful season.

All in all, the game was one MVHS would have liked to win, but the experience is valued much higher than the win.
