The MVHS boys basketball lost a close game against Los Gatos 51-55 on Feb. 7. Before the game, the Spartans celebrated the team’s six seniors: Will Chesley, Jayden Minor, Noah Kikuta, Nate Kelly, Jaden Feller, and Max Teleki.
The game started close with each team trading points and the first quarter ended tied at 12-12. The second quarter was equally competitive, with the Spartans entering halftime down 21-22.
In the second half, the Wildcats began to pull away. Los Gatos outscored MVHS 18-11 in the third quarter and at one point extended their lead to 11. In the final quarter, the Spartans began hitting some shots, scoring a game-high 19 points, yet it wasn’t enough. Ultimately, MVHS lost the game 51-55.
The Spartans’ record now sits at 10-12. They play away at Gunn on Friday, Feb. 14.
