On Nov. 5, the MVHS cross country teams competed at Crystal Springs for their final league meet of the season, successfully qualifying both the varsity girls and boys teams for CCS Championships.
The varsity boys team claimed first place in the El Camino division, with their top five runners finishing within the top seven spots of the race. They recorded a team time of 77:23, averaging approximately a 5:15 mile pace over the hilly 2.95-mile course, ranking as the 14th fastest team time in the history of the Crystal Springs course.
On the varsity girls side, the team earned second place with a combined time of 97:11, placing second to Los Altos.
Additionally, the JV boys won their race, while the JV girls took third place. The Spartans will return to Crystal Springs for CCS on Nov. 16.
