The MVHS varsity girls tennis team played Los Altos on Sept. 19, losing 1-6.
“I think we are just getting into the swing of competition season and we’ll settle in over the next couple of weeks,” senior singles two Hannah Rutherford said.
Senior singles four Sophia Ong said that Los Altos is a tough team to play against, but she was prepared and went out with a lot of energy and confidence, winning her match.
“All my teammates gave it their all and I am really happy with how they played regardless of their score,” Ong said.
Junior singles one Adeline Shen said that areas for improvement include getting more physically in shape over the season and more comfortable in a competitive environment.
“I’m looking forward to spending more time with the team,” Shen said. “We’ve been doing more team bonding than in the past with Froyo Fridays and other hangouts, so it’s definitely been a fun experience.”
