While the actors practiced, the props department worked to source and build the materials used in the production. In this image, they were going through budgeting, figuring out what else needed to be bought.

The costume department sourced and tailored clothes themselves. In breaks between flurries of activity, time was spent in changing rooms, talking and chatting.

Behind the audience, in the back of the theater, crew members controlled lighting and sound. Cues were near constant, as sound effects, music, and lighting changes were frequent throughout the play.

Throughout the play, crew members used phones built into the walls to talk to each other, coordinating cues and organizing the cast.

In between on-stage appearances, actors stayed backstage, like the dressing room pictured here. Hung on the wall was a TV that displayed a live feed of the stage and a speakerphone that cued actors to come back to the set.

The MVHS Theater performed the original immersive play, “Delay” on November 2-4.
“Delay” comedically tells the story of the end of the world at Dublin International Airport. The play was written by Sam Shannon, and directed by Pancho Morris.
We followed the cast and crew throughout the rehearsal process, taking photos during tech week, performances, and post-performance.
