Mountain View High School Principal Keith Moody has announced that he will be leaving MVHS and transitioning to the position of Director of Adult Education for the MVLA district. Although the new principal has not yet been selected, Moody said that the MVHS community will know who the replacement is by the end of this school year.
Moody explained that this opportunity to move positions within the district is rare, so when the job became available, he decided to go for it.
“I wanted to work with a different age group, either younger or older, so adult education is perfect,” Moody said.
Next year, Moody will miss his administrative team, including the vice principals and administrative assistants that he has worked with for years now.
“We work together like a well-oiled machine,” Moody said.
Moody also has fond memories of spending lunch periods in the cafeteria and getting to know MVHS students. He hopes he will be remembered at MVHS by the high quality of teachers he hired during his time here.
According to Moody, the new principal’s biggest challenge will be “refining and defining the grading system,” a goal the district has been working toward over the past year.
