Across campus, many students have walked past a tall fence obscuring their view where construction has occurred on the new buildings. Peeking in between the green mesh covering this fence, students can barely see wooden structures erected amid a vast expanse of dirt and construction vehicles.
This construction project began with the new portable classrooms that were completed in 2019. Now, work has begun on new engineering classrooms and a two-story building for various classrooms.
According to Senior Construction Manager Ken Judd, the construction is on schedule to be completed towards the end of 2021. As of now, building foundations have been installed while wood framing, structural steel, and underground utilities are in the process of being completed, each of which ranges from 20 percent to 50 percent in completion.
