The 2025-26 ASB Class Cabinet election results were released on Feb. 14. The freshman class reelected Martin Markov as sophomore class president, the sophomore class reelected Jannat Bhatia as junior class president, and the junior class reelected Ronak Chaudry as senior class president.
Markov ran on the platform of increasing transparency between the ASB class and student body by implementing more accessible forms of communication and collecting feedback. He said that ASB currently relies on receiving feedback via Instagram, a system that neglects students who do not have Instagram.
“A big thing we’re trying to work on next year is how to transfer [information] to other accounts,” Markov said.
Markov proposed sending out information in school-wide emails and receiving feedback from anonymous Google Forms. Bhatia added that putting posters around the MVHS campus will help increase publicity.
Markov said he and his cabinet plan to meet over the upcoming summer to create a master calendar and organize bigger class socials similar to the freshman movie night earlier this school year.
“[The movie night] was mainly intended to get the class together but also to prove that we could do bigger class socials and that we had the potential to continue growing,” Markov said.
According to Markov, 30 students attended the event but he believes this number can be increased. He said one way he plans to do this in his second term is to improve his communication skills.
“For the movie night, I forgot to list what food was at the movie night, what times, and what movie we’re watching,” Markov said. “So when I gave the slides to the science teacher to present during class, a lot of students were kind of confused and lowered attendance.”
Bhatia said that she aims to limit repetitive class socials and keep consistency with events, including planning a flag football social for next school year. She said she is planning more fundraisers by putting out a junior merch line.
“You can never have enough money, because we want to put on extravagant, big socials,” Bhatia said.
Bhatia said a personal goal of hers is to be more open-minded, which helped her this year to organize the Battle of the Classes dance routine. She said that at first she was hesitant towards the idea, but she realized that it was successfully able to bring together her sophomore class.
Chaudry said that he is looking forward to making the senior class’ last year at MVHS as memorable as possible. He proposed introducing custom senior parking spots that seniors will be able to paint, as well as hosting an end-of-school year party at the MVHS pool, although these ideas first need to be approved by the administration.
As class president for the past two years, Chaudry said that ASB has been “one-dimensional” in their approach to class activities, focusing mostly on athletics. His plan is to create class events that meet other interests such as drawing, art, and theater.
