The MVHS boys basketball team lost to Leigh 47-48 in the third round of CCS playoffs.
The game started with MVHS winning the tip-off, and the first quarter ended 11-10 in Leigh’s favor. Undeterred, the Spartans clawed back to end the first half with a lead of 16-15. The score remained close in the second half, with the game ending tied in regulation.
Now in overtime, play slowed down, with both teams fully utilizing their timeouts. With 1.8 seconds on the clock, Leigh scored a buzzer-beating half-court shot to give them the win.
