Photo Story: Boys soccer triumphs 3-2 in annual alumni game

Lee, Heatley, and Liu all contribute a goal in a close preseason win against the soccer team’s alumni.

The MVHS boys soccer team defeated the alumni in the annual preseason alumni game on Saturday, Nov. 30.

Freshman Jasper Lee scored the only goal for MVHS in the first half, which ended 1-1. After halftime, goals from seniors Caddell Heatley and Wesley Liu in the second half propelled the team to a 3-2 win.

After the match ended, the teams competed in a friendly penalty competition. In the end, the Spartans defeated the alumni in the shootout 7-6, with the winning penalty scored by Liu.
