Last night Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas came to the LAHS theatre to speak about his new autobiography, “Dear America: Notes of an Undocumented Citizen.” Vargas, former co-editor in chief of the Oracle, graduated from MVHS in 2000.
“This book—at its core—is not about immigration at all. This book is about homelessness, not in the traditional sense, but the unsettled, unmoored psychological state that undocumented immigrants like me find themselves in,” Vargas wrote in his book.
