Throughout the week of November 26th, 2012, the Mountain View High School (MVHS) Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) organized the first ever Transgender Awareness Week in order to spread awareness of the transgender and genderqueer community. As part of the campaign, on November 30, a transgender panel featuring former MVHS student Michael Martinez, community member Nori Herras, and local college student Justin visited the campus during lunch. 60 students and faculty filled the room as the panel members shared their unique stories.
