Meet the Freshmen Class Cabinet

Meet the Freshmen Class Cabinet

By Allie Caccamo and Roan Gaumer

A few weeks ago, the ASB elections for the Freshmen Class Cabinet took place and the elected officials were announced. Charlie Eggerton has been elected as Public Relations officer, Chris Vroom as Secretary/Treasurer, Arjun Gujral as Vice President, and Jake Lillie as President of the Freshmen class. We decided to interview each member for a little insight about the campaigning process and their plans for ASB.

Charlie Eggerton, Public Relations

What are you most looking forward to?

“I’m most looking forward to meeting new people and getting to know a lot of people around school. As a freshman, I don’t know a lot of upperclassmen and by doing ASB I can definitely meet some new people.”

What inspired you to run for ASB?

“Well, Jake [Lillie] inspired me a little bit, he pushed me to do it. Also, Natalie Lillie pushed me to do it because she wanted Jake and me in the class.”

Is there anyone you want to thank for making your campaign a success?

“Not really, I ran unopposed!”

Chris Vroom, Secretary/Treasurer

What are you most looking forward to?

“Homecoming. It seems like a very big deal and I know it’s going to be a super fun experience.”

What inspired you to run for ASB?

“My sister. She’s done ASB and encouraged me to. At first I was hesitant, but then I changed my mind and decided to move forward with it.”

Is there anyone you want to thank for making your campaign a success?

“My sister, Kelly Vroom, campaigned and helped me with everything.”

Arjun Gujral, Vice President

What are you most looking forward to?

“I want to make a difference at school, to leave my mark and make it a better place for everyone.”

What inspired you to run for ASB?

“I think it’s the school events that really inspired me. I just really want to be a part of it; it seems really fun and there’s always room for improvement.”

Is there anyone you want to thank for making your campaign a success?

“Everyone that voted for me!”

Jake Lillie, Freshmen Class President

What are you most looking forward to?

“I’m looking forward to float building nights and Homecoming week because I think it will be the most demanding as well as the most fun.”

What inspired you to run for ASB?

“The family legacy! Nick was in ASB and so was Natalie; Natalie’s currently ASB President. They said, ‘Jake you should totally do this, it’s really fun and a good way to get involved at school.’ They really inspired me.”

Is there anyone you want to thank for making your campaign a success?

“I want to thank my campaign managers/helpful poster makers, Sydney Mozer and Tommy Resnick. And, of course, my family for supporting me.”
